Public Works Department
The Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and repair of City streets, sidewalks, drainage, pavement markings, signs, vehicles and equipment.

Currently, traffic lights inside the City of Lockhart are on roadways maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). To report a traffic light problem, please contact TxDOT at (512) 398-2412.
Public Works is also responsible for maintenance of all City of Lockhart buildings and facilities, with duties including landscaping, carpentry painting, plumbing, tree removals, and other tasks. We also manage the residential solid waste collection contract, and the drainage utility.

Experiencing an outage?

If you experience an electric or water outage, call Public Works at 512-398-6452.

If you experience a utility outage outside of regular business hours, please call 512-398-4401 for assistance. Our staff is available after hours to help restore service as quickly as possible.
