The Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and repair of City streets, sidewalks, drainage, pavement markings, signs, water distribution, wastewater collections, fleet maintenance, and equipment. The department also oversees capital projects, inspects public infrastructure, and assists in public planning and development.
Public Works is also responsible for maintenance of all City of Lockhart buildings and facilities, with duties including landscaping, carpentry painting, plumbing, tree removals, and other tasks. We also manage the residential solid waste collection contract.
