  • Exciting things are happening in Lockhart and we would like you to be a part of it. We are conveniently located between Austin and San Antonio, just 15 miles east of San Marcos. It gives us access to big city amenities but at the same time, affords us a great small town quality of life! We are just 25 minutes south of the Austin-Bergstrom International airport on Hwy. 183 or the SH 130 tollway.

From the early cattle drives to oil wells and agriculture, Lockhart has remained a friendly and thriving community for over 150 years. There are many fantastic opportunities for new businesses in our downtown area,in our shopping centers, along the new SH 130 and in our industrial park.

Come join us for one of our many festivals throughout the year, especially in June for the Chisholm Trail Roundup.

Come visit us and enjoy our historic downtown square with our popular boutique stores and bakery. Find hidden treasures in our antique shops. Stroll through the Saturday farmers market.

Above all, tour the oldest Public Library, the oldest Protestant church in Texas, our beautiful Courthouse, and of course, dine on the best tasting Barbeque to be found anywhere!
