Water/Wastewater Department
The Water/Waste Water Department is owned by the City of Lockhart and operates a high quality wastewater treatment plant and water system. It is responsible for the operation and maintenance of three elevated water towers that bring water to the residents and businesses of the City of Lockhart.

The elevated towers are located throughout the city with the holding capacity as follows: San Jacinto St. of 250,000 gallons, Wichita St. 300,000, and Maple St. 500,000.

The Water/Wastewater Department installs water and sewer taps, turns on and off water service, as well as responding to requests for service in regard to water or sewer line situations.
If you have a water or sewer problem you may contact City Hall at (512) 398-3461 or the Lockhart's Water/Wastewater office is located at 705 Wichita, right off of Bois D'Arc St, or at (512)398-3615 during the working hours of 8am-5pm.

After hour calls (after 5pm, weekends, and holidays) should be directed to the Lockhart Police Dept. at (512) 398-4401 and they will dispatch the water department personnel on-call to the residents.
The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA), with funding by the Environmental Protection Agency through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, has developed a short, simple animation of a typical wastewater treatment process that you can conveniently view online. Watch the simulation to see how water used in homes and businesses is stringently treated to remove pollutants before being safely discharged back into rivers and streams. This reclamation and reuse of water stretches the supply in an environmentally safe manner.
